DOCUMENTARY: Divorce Corp.

When you think about divorce you think issues in the relationship, spouses not being able to come to an agreement on their own. However this documentary exposes the big business behind the court system that makes up Divorce Court.

I was surprised to see so much corruption that is involved in just getting a divorce. Even if you and your spouse agree on everything and it is an amicable split, they are still gouged for more money by the court and by the lawyers. I found that the family court is not in place to help either parent at all. The judge is the jury, judge & executioner for every case they handle. This is a form of power control and abuse.

There are no regulations in the system to prevent any person to not get systematically raped. What the system says if you know the judge or the lawyer who is favorable in that case then you are winning point blank period. The documentary take a different look on what the systems that we have in the United States are really about.

This system is terrible. You can't catch a break. No one is getting that fair trial in family court. Did you know if the judge deem that you can't file motions or any further paperwork you can go to jail? At the whim of the judge. Mediators can change the course of a parents life with their child or effect their divorce process altogether. Money based on numbers, the more people you screw over the more they have to come back.

Now here is another thing that was highlighted in the documentary. In Scandinavia, they have the same rate of divorce but it is free to file for divorce. Also they separate the custody of a child from the child support payments. In other words whomever has the child is paid the same amount as if the other parent would if they had custody. And it is not beneficial for either party to have a length legal battle because the parties have to pay each others legal fees. Now how is this able to happen there but not in America? Why fix what is setup to make lawyers, judges and political party backers rich and keep everyone else poor? The simple answer is, this is a Corporate money scam all the way.

This doesn't mean that all lawyers and judges practice this way but how can we change this system? Where is the reform? This system seemingly is biased and unjust to any and everyone that doesn't side with the idea of making money of others misery. I'm sure I am not the first one to feel outrage over what is happening. The motto is money over everything and this is a sad realization of the systems we have.

If you haven't watched this documentary, you can check this out on Netflix or the website Divorce Corp. and do the research yourself.
